the rice has now produced bright yellow grains which are ready for harvest and the grade 3 and grade 4 students returned to harvest the rice. The rice with beautiful leaves and a lot of grains looked amazing. We took the students to do rice farming in order to let them learn about the real world from nature by their own hard work and inherit knowledge from the ancestors. What the nature has given back to them is to allow them to appreciate aesthetics of what they did to the world in which they live.

The students used real sickles from professional farmers to learn about the ancient way of farming. In spite of the heat, the students managed to finish harvesting. It was an impressive childhood experience. The rice is tied into bundles according to the sheaving scheme of Phetchaburi people.

We would like to Thank Khun Wilit of Ban Na Wilit, Uncle Oun and all the personnel for giving us a warm welcome and allowing the students to have an opportunity to do farming at this place.

We will return to attend the merit making ceremony for welcoming the rice at the threshing floor again after New Year. A local Thai traditional music group will perform at the event.
